Access for owners and dogs

Guide Dogs wants to ensure that guide dog owners receive the same treatment as everyone else. We have a range of publications that provide information on the rights of blind and partially sighted people within the transport, street and built environment. These publications will also assist service providers in making their services more accessible to blind and partially sighted people.

Guide dog and owner in a pub

Imagine arriving at your local pub or restaurant, looking forward to an evening out, only to be turned away at the door. The reason? You're a guide dog owner and your guide dog is not welcome.  This is the humiliating experience that many guide dog owners face all too often. We have tackled this issue by producing access leaflets to raise the awareness for all licensees and restaurateurs to open their doors to guide dog owners and their dogs.
